This is an abbreviated version of a lovely outdoor wedding at Lake Minnewanka, the “Water of the Spirits” (Stoney Indian) and a spirited event on its shores.

“When my husband and I watched our wedding video in its entirety, we were both speechless and in awe. We marveled at how Michael so elegantly captured every significant moment of our wedding day and how he stylishly combined audio, music, and video to accent all the emotions of the day. Michael is a very talented videographer whose artistic style made our wedding video unique and definitely memorable. By far, choosing Klekamp to record our wedding day was one of the best decisions we made during the wedding planning process. We will forever have the most special day of our lives captured as it unfolded.”

I am excited to announce that new wedding video packages are in the works! Samples will be coming shortly.
Whereas my packages so far have offered my clients a clean documentary of their ceremony and of their wedding day, new camera development (Canon T2i for me) has enabled filmmakers to venture into the ‘Hollywood’ territory. In real life, that translates into hard work but it does translate into beautiful videos as well. Videos that capture the emotions and highlights of your wedding day.
I invite you to simply subscribe to the RSS feed to be automatically updated once the news are out!

Of course, a well done documentary will always have its place, notably during the wedding ceremony, so the classic packages will certainly remain.
Thank you for your interest!

I’ve been asked that numerous times by brides and grooms and even though opinions differ on that matter to some extend, there are some universal truths:
The surroundings in Banff, Lake Louise and Canmore provide an awesome backdrop for any video or photography. Winter or summer, it is technically fairly easy to make shots look good.
A ‘cinematic’ look in your wedding video is what most people are striving for now – a shallow depth of field for those softer backgrounds and a crisp clear focus on the bride and groom.
Beautiful images, right?
It does take a skilled videographer to achieve that look and two cameras should be the norm in order to guarantee a smooth product.

I dare to say that this is only half of what makes a great video of your wedding day.
The other half is the interaction between your wedding videographer, bride and groom and your guests.
A purely documentary and observing video can make for a fine memento, but it’s those engaging moments of interaction with the camera, or more so with the camera operator that will turn it into a truly great video.

Choosing a wedding video professional is therefore a very personal matter – make sure that it’ll be fun to have him/her around AND that you’ll get a quality product in the end.

After having shot so many wedding videos, do I still enjoy it? Yes, absolutely, for a number of reasons. Firstly, you do get to work with a lot of different people at their best – stressed maybe, but they are all having a great time. Secondly, it really teaches me how to shoot. You don’t get second chances! If you can shoot a wedding and stick to ‘good production’ principles while being pressed for time all the way, you can pull it off on other occasions easily. Thirdly, it is a festive and joyous occasion and what’s wrong with a party?
